Hairy Situation

Howdy Y’all! Happy Friday!

For today’s Feature Friday/ Friday Feature, I’m pleased to present my latest acquisition from today’s $84 “essentials only” trip to Target:

I promise I don’t secretly work for them, but HAVE YOU GUYS TRIED THIS CRAP?!

I went home over Christmas and my lovely sister had supplied my parents’ house with “house shampoo/conditioner” for when any of us kids visits and uses the upstairs shower. My hair had not seen a day this great since about 2003 after I used this stuff, including after I go to the salon! I must admit I think my Christmas Day hair (a day which will live in my heart and memory forever as “the great hair day of 2011” might have been supplemented by my parents water softener as well, but I’m determined to have great hair again some day soon.

I look forward to the day my store brand shampoo runs out and I get to bust these babies open!

Do you buy specific shampoo and hair products or buy whatever is on sale (within reason)? Have you ever tried Organix? Do you use Moroccan Oil in your hair or on your skin? Do you relish a great hair day like me?

I almost always purchase the cheapest shampoo. I do this at a cost though…we traveled over the holidays and like you, I loved what the hotel shampoo (Pantene) did for my hair.

  2. I LOVE a good hair day! This stuff looks great!

I love a good hair day but they come all too infrequently lately! I try to mix up the shampoo I use or at least the hair products I put in to style. If I go 5 days in a row I usually have a really bad hair run (lasts several days) and then it sinks in and I try something different for styling product. But hard water is baaaaad until your hair gets used to it and then it seems to work ok for awhile. Funny, huh? In AZ I usually have a hair transition week where I schedule a hair cut or some other drastic measure. Ok enough about my evidently favorite topic–bad hair! I’m glad you are so pleased with the shampoo Kate supplied and hopefully that will mean more trips home so you can use it! Gotcha! Mom

I love buying bathroom essentials. I get so excited when I see I’m running out of shampoo/conditioner because it means I get to try something new. I just bought some Pantene (I think?) shampoo that is supposed to be for helping keep hair strong and long. It’s blue, which is weird, but it’s been pretty good so far!

Yay for the great hair day 2011!!

I buy what is cheap first and what smells best second.

I hope to change that some day.

was that stuff expensive! I love that oil for your hair!!!

  6. Alyssa says:

My shampoo tends to run a bit more (than I’d like) since I now have to use sulfate free shampoo.
I always see this brand, but have never tried it. I always hear moroccan oil is PHENOMENAL.

And LOL at the “essentials trip”. Don’t you know there is no such thing when it comes to Target? 🙂

I REALLY thought it was going to happen this time, since it was pretty late already, but nope… I “passed through” the clothes section and it was all over.

  7. Ada says:

Target has some sort of special vortex that ends up sucking all your money, I think. I’m not terribly picky about what I put in my hair, but Organix sounds like something right up my alley. Will probably try it out some time!

  8. Miksu says:

I always use neutral shampoo, my scalp is sensitive and neutral shampoos are best for it 😀

  9. Diana says:

I buy my shampoo from Costco and so I just get a huge bottle of Dove or their store brand. Since having kids, I just get whatever. Its a shame because my hair is totally brittle on the ends!! Oh the days when I didn’t have kids haha

  10. I might have to try that shampoo! I used to be really particular on shampoo, but now I buy what’s on sale and usually if I have a coupon! I love coupons! I still buy my fancy salon shampoo on occasion, but now it’s not such a big deal. However, I will never skimp on hair products post-shower. I swear by Kenra products. Unfortunately, they’re on the expensive side. $20 for 3.4oz of blow-dry spray? ugh! But it’s amazing and really does dry my long thick hair in no time!

    • Meri says:

I’ve never tried Kenra, I’ll have to write it down! I have pretty short hair right now so I just let it air dry then “fix it” in the morning if it needs it, but my hair is really thick so when its longer I need good products!

i alway see those shampoo bottles and think about getting them. i usually just stick with garnier fructis. hahah. i heard if you massage your hair with olive oil or avocado, you get more shine!

Cute! This stuff looks great! ♥♥♥

I don’t know. I’m feeling pulled in two directions: Resisting the expensive shampoo yet simultaneously allured by the thought of a good hair day. Who will win? Bargain Marg or Good Hair Marg? Hmmm

  14. oomph says:

this stuff just sounds nice! i used to work at a salon years ago…so i always used expensive salon shampoo. but now, i just treat myself when i have gift cards and buy drugstore stuff in between.
