Well we’ve returned from the desert, back to the tundra. It’s okay though, because we’re supposed to have weather in the 50s this week, so I think I can cope.
On vacation we went hiking, horseback riding, thrifting, dining, and more. But we didn’t have to wait long or drive far to get a dose of the desert. On our first hour or two after being picked up at the airport, we were already immersed in a land nothing like what we left back home in Minnesota. Want some proof?
Minnesota: Snow outside / Arizona: Flowers in bloom
Minnesota: Gray and leafless/ Arizona: Sunny with green palms
Minnesota: Birds have gone south…/ Arizona: Peacocks!
Minnesota: Condos next door/ Arizona: Coyotes next door
What is this world coming to? Anyway, I’ll share more of the other parts of our trip soon, but didn’t feel like writing a massive vacation post all in one.
Because then I might run out of time to post today’s next Sugarbowl match! Over my short hiatus, Skittles got the most votes and will move on.

Yay go Skittles! This next match-up is hard because I love both candies so much! I guess I’m gonna have to go with Twix.
Right now, the Puget Sound has been very stormy lately – very windy (which I SWEAR I left 2 hours East of here after I graduated from college last June) and off and on rain. We actually had a break from it today though it’s supposed to pick up again tomorrow. Spring isn’t that far away though 😀

I bet the wind felt good in the warm temps, though. I once had to do summer school while in college and the cool wind was fabulous in the heat!

I love the comparisons you’ve made. I really like traveling to places in off seasons. I like the winter in the Caribbean and the summer in Alaska for that great contrast.
I’ve never been to Alaska but I would choose summer for sure if I went!

It’s totally raining and windy here right now. I’m about to get on my bike to go to work and dreading it. Last week it was a little bit light in the morning, but it’s so rainy right now that it is pitch dark again for my commute. Good thing I have stylin’ rain gear!

I love to buy fun rain gear so that at least there is SOMETHING to look forward to when its a rainy day. I love my checkered wellies from target!

Glad your trip went well. It’s snowing here this morning. I saw someone talking about planning their garden the other day on Facebook. I nearly choked. We don’t start planning until at least April and then we hope we can get it planted by June, which is when our official last frost date is.
yeah I think MN will have an early spring this year because the winter has been so mild, but usually I’m still wearing jackets until may haha

Only once have I seen a coyote in our backyard. Normally, we get deer and other (smaller) critters. That’s what happens when your backyard backs up to woods.

omg wild coyotes! that is SO cool!! I live in Canada haha we got deer and moose but coyote is cooler, except if you have kids or pets I guess right?
yeah- I was a little freaked out haha even though I know they are not going to come after an adult 🙂

Still winter up here. We had -15 this morning! But I’m confident that spring is right around the corner.
I have seen them by their house before, but never in the middle of the afternoon, it was cool!
