Alright, this is getting ridiculous, people…. ANOTHER good mail day?
Special Delivery from Kristin! Head over to Style it Green to learn more eco-friendly tips and info! This art is made of eco-friendly materials!
Thank you very much, Kristin!
And these came hand delivered, but I’ll qualify them as “good mail…”
Steps:
-Find an apron/ skirt/ dress that you are willing to cut apart. The item needs to have two mirror image pockets that are big enough to hold some of your things.
-cut the pockets out with some space around them for sewing.
-place two pocket pieces back to back, decorated side facing in.
-Sew the two side and bottom corners together (sewing machine or by hand, doesn’t matter. This was by hand)
-Flip inside out
-Find leather cording, pretty ribbon, robe, or any other semi shape holding string, and measure out enough to go over your shoulder and across your body.
-Thread through beads (as shown) if you like.
-Sew cording onto inside flaps of purse
-Gloat over your unique DIY purse, and make Meri proud
That’s it!
Now, as you can see above- this purse is pretty small. I almost never carry a purse- I walk to work so I use a backpack, and when I go out I just throw my “wallet” (we’ll get to that) in my pocket with my phone. When I run errands I sometimes use a purse, though. Here some purse or pocket contents you’d commonly find!
| phone, coupons, notebook (for blog ideas and grocery/ library lists) sassy shades, chapstick, keys, pen, wallet! |
That Bacardi Mint tin has functioned as my wallet for about 2-3 years now. It’s surprisingly durable, and keeps me from carrying around too much crap. It generally carries my check card, ID, library card, Speedy Rewards card, Borders rewards card, Roundy’s Rewards card, Health/ Dental insurance cards, and Roadside Assistance card from my auto insurance.
Wow, what a boring post this is becoming. Please don’t stop reading my blog, I promise I’ll come up with some more cheesy puns and maybe even give away some more stuff if you keep up with the incredibly kind comments you’ve been posting lately.
YOU COMPLETE ME… well, my blog anyway 🙂
Cheers, and goodnight!
Meri
