As the New Year approaches, there is one thing that I have on my mind (other than dreaming about champagne in my PJs on New Years morning)… my annual trip to see my Mom and Pop in Arizona!
Seeing my snowbird parents has become one of my favorite ways to break up the long Minnesota winters. Even though this year has been incredibly mild so far (50 degrees the day after Christmas? in MINNESOTA??) I still can’t wait.
So for this Travelin’ Thursday, I wanted to share a few of my favorite photos of AZ from years past!

ย Are you planning a winter getaway? Where should I visit in Arizona this year? What travel sites do you use to find the cheapest ticket prices?
Meri

Lovely photos… sure is a gorgeous area.
Winter… hmmmm… it’s summer here right now!
lol
I hope you enjoy your trip to visit your Mom and Pop.
Thank you- Its still a way off but I’m so psyched!
My winter getaway this year is Minnesota. I’ll be in the cities this weekend if you have some time to meet up. I’m hoping to drive down earlyish Friday and don’t know when I’ll be going back to St. Cloud. Nolan Peterson is throwing a party Friday that I’ll be attending, and I believe I’m meeting with folk for happy hour at Lyndale Taps (?????) possibly. Let me know if you have a chance to meet up. Hope your Christmas was swell!
I might be up in STC next weekend. I will let you know if I am. I hope you have a happy New Year!
Hahahaha, I’m guessing that 50 degrees is really warm there? I love that you get away to see your parents in warmer weather! What a cool tradition. I went to Portland for my winter getaway this year. Though new years is going to be spent in LA this year!
haha- yes, it is! usually its below zero by now. Ugh.
Gorgeous pics! I WISH I were going somewhere! Last year I was in Vegas the first week of Jan. unfortunately no trip for me this year. And I don’t need it? I’m quite content at the moment. Probably because we have no snow & I don’t feel like I’m hibernating lol ๐ Expedia is the best deal site though! I book everything with them for every trip. Have fun on your trip!
I will try Expedia next, thanks! I agree about not being desperate for a trip though. I can’t believe this weather!
So breathtakingly beautiful! I was in Arizona once and I was in awe the entire time.
I have never been to AZ, but since we are going to Tuscon this winter I need to start researching things to do.
I always get the guidebooks from the library, but there is so much to do because of all of the diverse geography in AZ. I haven’t been to Tucson though.
OH my gosh these pictures warm the soul.
I remember Montezuma’s well from a prior post.
so so pretty.
enjoy the visit.
I’m moving.
not as fun, but I am excited!
xoxo
No, it is exciting to me. I love moving! Where are you moving to, another house or another city?
Beautiful photos! My sisters both live in Phoenix! I’ll be headed there in March. I always like to go to the Desert Botanical Gardens. You can take some pretty good photos there, too. http://www.dbg.org/
Have a fun trip! ๐
I’ve only been to the botanical gardens once, but they had an awesome butterfly exhibit and also Chihuly glass art all over. It was awesome, I took like a hundred photos hahaha
That sunset is breathtaking!!
They’ve been beautiful here lately too, its just too cold to want to be outside for them most of the time haha
I love the colours of that sunset photo, great shot
thank you! The desert sunsets are so incredible!
Wow, that is truly beautiful!! I want to visit there now.
yeah- writing this post made me really excited to go!
