Arizoning Out

As the New Year approaches, there is one thing that I have on my mind (other than dreaming about champagne in my PJs on New Years morning)… my annual trip to see my Mom and Pop in Arizona!

Seeing my snowbird parents has become one of my favorite ways to break up the long Minnesota winters. Even though this year has been incredibly mild so far (50 degrees the day after Christmas? in MINNESOTA??) I still can’t wait.

So for this Travelin’ Thursday, I wanted to share a few of my favorite photos of AZ from years past!

Sedona
Desert Sunset
Little Johns? I always forget the name
Lake Pleasant
Some Cactus Love
Vulture Peak
Montezuma's Well

ย Are you planning a winter getaway? Where should I visit in Arizona this year? What travel sites do you use to find the cheapest ticket prices?

My winter getaway this year is Minnesota. I’ll be in the cities this weekend if you have some time to meet up. I’m hoping to drive down earlyish Friday and don’t know when I’ll be going back to St. Cloud. Nolan Peterson is throwing a party Friday that I’ll be attending, and I believe I’m meeting with folk for happy hour at Lyndale Taps (?????) possibly. Let me know if you have a chance to meet up. Hope your Christmas was swell!

  3. Hahahaha, I’m guessing that 50 degrees is really warm there? I love that you get away to see your parents in warmer weather! What a cool tradition. I went to Portland for my winter getaway this year. Though new years is going to be spent in LA this year!

  4. Gorgeous pics! I WISH I were going somewhere! Last year I was in Vegas the first week of Jan. unfortunately no trip for me this year. And I don’t need it? I’m quite content at the moment. Probably because we have no snow & I don’t feel like I’m hibernating lol ๐Ÿ™‚ Expedia is the best deal site though! I book everything with them for every trip. Have fun on your trip!

I have never been to AZ, but since we are going to Tuscon this winter I need to start researching things to do.

I always get the guidebooks from the library, but there is so much to do because of all of the diverse geography in AZ. I haven’t been to Tucson though.

Beautiful photos! My sisters both live in Phoenix! I’ll be headed there in March. I always like to go to the Desert Botanical Gardens. You can take some pretty good photos there, too. http://www.dbg.org/
