My last several Travelin’ Thursday posts have been related to Arizona, as that was my most recent traveling experience. I still haven’t even nearly exhausted my tales from that trip, but tonight I want to revisit a fall excursion I took with some of the lovely ladies in my family to that midwestern mecca- Chicagoland!
Our stay in the windy city was brief this time around, but it was a whirlwind. Since my last time there, my cousin and his wife have moved to the city, and so we wanted to meet up with them and meet their baby boy (my second cousin? once removed?) as well. When trying to decide a meeting place, we settled upon the Hancock Tower’s Signature Room so that we could kill two birds (socializing and touristing) with one stone.
Up on the 95th floor we enjoyed catching up with family and a surprisingly affordable lunch. There was a buffet available which I believe was even more reasonable, but we instead went for salads, sandwiches, and some delicious beverages. As our meal was winding down we wandered around the perimeter of the cafe/ lounge out over the city; discussing The Devil in the White City and looking where my cousin pointed out their neighborhood.

After we left the restaurant, we traveled on to a really neat church and hoofed it to the Art Institute. We parted ways with my cousins there and then went on to happy hour, and then happy hour, and then jazzzzzz. Those are stories for another day though. Today I just wanted to share the view with you.
