Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad
-The Sound of Music
What on earth is today’s post about? Well, I’ve been feeling a bit high and low today, bursts of energy (walking to the co-op with man-go-round, dancing in the kitchen, cleaning the kitchen sink, finishing up some school reading) followed by aches, pains, and whininess (lets not go into that).
So, I thought I’d focus on a few of my favorite things, just like Maria Von Trapp taught us all. Here they are:
Amy’s Tamale Pies (stay tuned for a DIY recipe soon), walks in the sunshine, my coconut organix shampoo and conditioner, the salsa-riffic sounds of Tito Puente and his orchestra, bright yellow sunflowers by the side of the road, a really good book, slacking off and relaxing after working hard all afternoon, Pinterest, a Heineken from the fridge, and a killer back massage.
What are a few of your favorite things?
Meri
