Bridging the Map

Tonight I was driving over a bridge, over the Mighty Mississippi, and I gazed down at the sudsy, churning brown water.
This particular bridge I have driven over, walked over, biked over, and walked under.
It got me thinking about bridges, what they mean to a place, and what people feel when they see them or use them to get one place to another.
A few years ago the 35W bridge in Minneapolis collapsed, leaving wreckage behind. I had sort of a bad taste in my mouth about bridges for awhile.
But I can’t stay mad at them for long… after all, I’ve seen some pretty incredible bridges, large and small!
Venice, CA
Lisbon, Portugal
International Bridge, NE Minneapolis
Minneapolis
NE Minneapolis
Oak Creek, Arizona
Red Wing, Minnesota
San Francisco, California
San Francisco, California
Stillwater, MN
Franklin Bridge, Minneapolis
Saint Cloud, MN

“Under the Bridge”- not just a song by RHCP…

So- have you visited any of these bridges? What is your favorite bridge?
