I went back out on a short walk after my walk home from work tonight, cause I wanted to capture some of the night’s character. Some of the neighbors have strung up white lights, and I could see the skyline glittering over the freeway wall…

I also did some experimenting with the night settings. I didn’t reset any of the ISO or any of that who-what, just played with the flash and distance. (Daily thank you to mom and pop for the idiot proof canon powershot!)

Hats! Why do hats have such silly names? I believe it’s to make us giggle and be happy! Here are some of the best:

-yarmulke (spelling? is that considered a hat?)
can anyone tell me what those russian cylindrical hats are called? the fuzzy ones? Karkaroff wears one in the movie adaptation of harry potter goblet of fire…
Man-go-round thought of the straw hats worn in some Asian countries… name of these?
Does anyone have any other good hat names? Or favorites? Why are they all so silly?
