Skech book

Meri goes round. Meri sometimes drives (see yesterday’s rant), sometimes bikes… but mostly walks.

I walk a LOT. To work, to the grocery store, to coffee and beer outings, traveling…

A girl’s gotta have good shoes! But who wants to wear their nikes with a dress? Who wants to pair orthotics with their favorite paisley tights and shorts combo? Not this lady…

Enter my favorite shoe brand: Skechers.

My most comfiest Skechers...
Paisley lace up boot Skechers...
My fanciest and newest Skechies
And my black sparkly everyday ones!

I should note here that I have had other pairs of Skechers in the past, and I do own other brands of shoes, but I’m fiercely loyal to them for a few reasons:

1. Super Comfortable: I’ve stomped down sidewalks in major cities of the world like Heidi Klum. I’ve hiked in them. I’ve worn them to parties, on impromptu walks, and pretty much everywhere. They are so comfortable, but look waaaaay better than other sneakers or tennis shoes with skirts or jeans.

2. Very affordable and consistently priced: I think of the 7-8 different pairs I’ve bought, the only ones that weren’t between $35-45 dollars were the boots, which were only slightly more. And the Skechers store at Mall of America frequently has awesome sales if you buy more than one pair.

3. Compliment factories: If you’re an attention seeking youngest child like me, you enjoy the 17 compliments you get per week just from wearing your “street shoes.” Sure, I get occasional compliments on heels or pretty gladiators or Nancy Sinatra boots… but I get a disproportionate number of positive compliments from strangers on these.

4. Ever changing, yet always the same: Hear me out. I know I can always go to get the classic Skechers sneakers (over the arch with no laces, my first pair!) in several colors. But every time I return, I also find new varieties that I want too. Its a tough call every time… but they last forever too! which brings me to the final rave…

5. Quality despite low price! I’ve bought shoes at Target, DSW, and the Gap. I’ve bought shoes pretty much any affordable place you can get shoes at a similar price point, and these shoes just outlast them all (despite being able to wear them all of the time, everywhere). I’m not sure how they make them, but the only reason I buy new ones is because I get bored. I have a sad little graveyard of rarely worn Skechers in my closet that I love too much to get rid of, but can’t wear because I have the NEW ones!

So there you have it! I don’t work for Skechers (although perhaps I should, come to think of it), I just really like the shoes and want to share it with everyone!

Are you super loyal or impressed by any brands, clothing or otherwise? Or do you vary it up a bit more? Do you have any Skechers?

Meri

I’m a sucker for comfy shoes, and I really like Borns.

  2. Stephanie says:

I love skechers too! Mary janes + crazy multicoloured socks are part of my every day look, so I laughed when I saw that you wear the same. I wear sensible comfortable shoes all the time, so I hear you on needing to be comfortable!

  3. Love, love those lace ups!

  4. Those do look like fun shoes!

  5. I like those boots! I’m not really loyal to any particular brand or style of anything. I do love my Sperrys though! And I love F21 🙂 I like to mix it up haha

    • Meri says:

You can’t beat F21 for cheap cute stuff to brighten things up! I have about 4 pairs of F21 sunglasses that were all under $5!

I had Sketchers back in the day – Sketchers sneakers – and I have to admit that I wasn’t that impressed…I know they’re inexpensive but I always kind of got the “you get what you pay for” feeling with them. Of course at the time I was using them as running shoes and that may have been my biggest issue.

  7. Cindy says:

    ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I need to find a pair of those.

I just wear my running shoes everywhere and it’s getting embarrassing!
    did you say SPARKLY ones?
    xo

  8. My wife’s Grandma used to say ‘Always buy a good bed and good shoes because if you aren’t in one then you are in the other’.

  9. Hey thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂 Yes push ups are press ups 🙂
And I love skechers too! So comfy and also loads of pretty styles- I always stock up at the outlets when I come to the USA 🙂

Hmmmm…brand loyalties, yes: The North Face, Kyodan workout capris, Banana Republic, J Crew jeans.

  11. Cassie says:

I am a dedicated fan of Sperry Top-Siders, wear them ’till the soles wear out…gotta love them 🙂

  12. Sarah says:

I love Sketchers! They are on of the only brands that fit my orthotics and are fashionable at the same time. The rest of the time I’m in boring flats and kids shoes. My nephew used to work for them and I got 50% off .. sadly no more 🙁

  13. Simply Life says:

cute shoes! I go with what’s comfortable, good for my feet and on sale!

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I pay per session at the gym I go to, not sure if there are any gyms like that near you, look for the amateur ones, I love the training and would reccomend it to anyone! I love those sketchers boots btw, v cute!

  15. Marie says:

I have a few pairs myself and love them! I have to wear comfortable shoes to work!! I love your “beer walks” …sounds fun! lol!

  16. Love a good pair of shoes! Mine are pretty varied, but I have a few faves

  17. I love practical shoes and those definitely look comfy! I’m not very particular with shoe brands. I love scoring some great deals on shoes, so that is usually the driving factor. I do completely love Bandolino shoes. I had never heard of the brand, but picked up a pair at TJMaxx and they’re maybe my go-to heels now. Super comfy for heels and I know an 8 will fit me perfectly!
