Merry Making and Meri Baking

Hi friends! Today is Monday, which around here means I make LISTS!

After an office discussion today turned cookie-licious, I thought “what better way to kick off the holiday season of lists… than with a cookie list!” So here it is: The best holiday cookies, as I see it.

Meri’s Must Eat Holiday Cookies!

Grandma Clara’s Christmas Cookies– Don’t mess with the best. These sugar cookies are legendary around our house. Cutouts with a thin icing and sprinkles on top, we usually eat these frozen. Strange but delicious!

Gingerbread cookies– All family traditions and abovementioned family recipes aside, I think gingerbread cookies are my favorite food in the entire world. Plus, they are fun to decorate.

Peppermint meringues– I only recently started making these, but they are so fun to make (with a makeshift ziplock “piping bag”) and you get to smash candy canes to bits to make them!

Runners up:

-Cornflake/ Corn Syrup/ Red hot wreaths

-Peanut butter cookies with Hershey’s Kisses on top

-“Candy Cane” shaped red and white twisted cookies with almond flavoring

What is your favorite holiday cookie? Do you have a baking tradition or exchange with family or friends?
