“Pump” it up!

Hi Folks! Short post tonight, because I want to dig into the Christmas books I got from the library- Angelina’s Christmas, The Night Before Christmas, Christmas in the Big Woods (Laura Ingalls Wilder. Represent yo), The Grinch, and more.

Before I curl up with these classics, though, I wanted to share a new product I just discovered the other night, for Tasty Tuesday!

As some of you may know, I tend to eschew doughy or fluffy breads (its a texture thing. They disappear like mush in your mouth. ugh.) Instead, I prefer dense and chewy breads. I like bagels (done right), tortillas, and any breads with lots of nuts. I typically buy these flax seed wraps, but when I saw pumpernickel wraps, I had to grab them. Never mind that they were probably like 4 dollars because I bought them at Lunds/Byerlys (am I the only one that still has to remind herself that they merged?)

The verdict? Totally worth the money. Chewy, nice and thin, but didn’t break. Slightly sweet, but full of flavor. Okay, I just walked over my purse, and checked the receipt. They were $2.99 and there were four in the package. 75 cents is a bit steep for a wrap, so I guess I’ll have to have them be “special occasion bread” like the Rudy’s Cinnamon Raisin bagels I so enjoy, but only buy when they are on sale.

 Do you have particular types of bread that you prefer or will only eat? Or do you just see it as a vehicle for whatever you put on it? Have you tried pumpernickel or other specialty (spelt, oat, etc.) wraps before?
