When the music’s over…

…the sweet, sweet music of LOVE, that is!

One day, you’re enamored and googly eyed and full of bliss…

… and then one day you wake up, realize, “what on EARTH was I thinking with this loser?” and the joyous musical strains take on a minor chord.

Yesterday was sap-a-licious with the love songs. Now I’m through with love. Bring on the rage.

Meri Mends a Broken Heart… with Music

1. I Will Survive- Gloria Gaynor. I think this song could get you through pretty much anything.

2. F You- Ceelo Green. It’s been in more than one list this month, but it speaks for itself.

3.You Oughtta Know- Alanis Morisette. Wins the award for most enraged!

4. It’s My Party- Leslie Gore. A bit more tame, but it’s a classic.

5. Cry Me a River- Justin Timberlake. That video was pretty nasty too. I heart JT.

6. These Boots are Made for Walkin’- Nancy Sinatra. One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you…

7. Black- Pearl Jam. Brings me right back to high school, pretending I knew what a broken heart felt like.

8. Love Hurts- Nazareth. In many a movie montage.

9. Piece of My Heart- Janis Joplin. Woman can sing it. Sing those blues Janis!

10. It’s All over Now- Rolling Stones. Don’t let the upbeat tempo and tricky major chords fool you. This ones a breakup song indeed.

What are your favorite breakup songs? Is there any music that helped get you through a nasty split? Do you just want to vent about a breakup in my comment section? Have at it!

I’ll be busy with my one woman show of “I will survive” that I perfected when I lived amongst the centipedes.

Toodles!
Meri
