A while back, I started a Pinterest board based on Jackie Kennedy/ Jackie Onassis/ Jackie Bouvier (whatever we want to call her…) Jacqueline.
Then, inspired by Jennifer’s recent post on the style icon, I thought I’d share a few of my Jackie photo faves. Enjoy!

Over and over, I chose gleeful, chic, and smiling or laughing photos of Jackie. In the end, I don’t want to think of her like the final picture, although she is beautiful in tears as well as joy. I want to think of all of the happy moments in life, with just one small reminder of the sadness that we must also go through as human beings.
Do you have a favorite “Jackie” moment (or outfit)? Do you think of her has a joyful or a tearful icon? Or both?
Meri

Definitely as a joyful icon. A fashionable one too, even though I’ve never been a fan of following the latest fashions and trends and styles. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t have an opinion on who I think is fashionable and stylish. No matter the decade 🙂
I think regardless of my own style, its hard to deny how chic and stylish Jackie is!
Yay! I’m so pleased I inspired this post for you. 🙂
I love these photos. I think the first photo is so chic. She looks so glamorous. I love that you chose mostly photos of her smiling. She had such a dazzling smile which lit up the camera.
It’s funny, before I did my post a while back, I always thought of Jackie O as not really happy or sad, but mostly just this silent, serious-faced icon. More like a doll which could be seen but not touched. But after reading her heart-felt quotes and coming across all those photos of her smiling, I feel like she’s more real to me now. Her life had so much sadness, from all angles, and she still managed to find joy and laughter. Not many women can do that. I’ve seen too many who are the opposite. 🙁
Love this post! xo
I’m glad you like the post/ photos! She is known for her style but she really does have an incredible smile, you’re right. I can get behind a woman who looks on the bright side!
I’ve never really given her much thought, but this post makes me curious! Maybe I’ll have to read a book about her or something?! She is a style icon for sure though!
I know, I hadn’t been that curious until recently either. If I find a good bio I’ll let you know.
I read the book Jackie Joan Ethel and she definitely seemed to be portrayed as more of a sad melancholic character, but then you see these pictures and she looks just whimsical and glowing. I don’t think that is easy to fake. I just love Jackie O . I think she was one classy babe! : )
did you like the book? I thought I might pick up a Jackie bio to read one of these days.
Definitely think of her as joyful. I always associate her with that little pillbox hat!
me too, and those sunglasses!
She makes me feel inspired….mostly gleeful, a little tearful…but very thoughtful.
I’ve never read a bio on her or anything, I just know the most common perceptions of her. It would be interesting to learn more!
