Happy Tuesday to all! I enjoyed reading about what shows other people watch, and forgot about a few that I love (Glee, Californication, The Sopranos, Parenthood, and more).
Today I was moving some stuff over to our new place, and someone was out on their patio barbecuing something FIERCE! Not that BBQ doesn’t always smell good, but this reminded me of, well… dare I say… when I used to work at Punch and they would cook the sausage in the woodfire oven. Yes, I’ve never had sausage, but yes, it smells diviiiiine sometimes!
Which made me think of other smells that make me gagagaga. Not like Lady Gaga, just blissful happy place. So today’s list:
Meri’s Magnifi-scents
Let’s start with some obvious ones:
-Lilacs
-Vanilla
-Fresh baked bread
-Gingerbread
-Newborns/ infants, and especially their hair and breath! (nobody has kidnapped me, its really me, Meri!)
Then maybe some commonly enjoyed smells, but not so obvs:
-Cedar furniture
-Coconut
-Sauteing garlic
-Pine needles/ forest
-Aveda shampoo
And maybe some of my own special faves:
-Beer (but not stale beer or miller light or anything)
-Peanut butter (especially when melted)
-Cucumbers
-Whiskey, Scotch, Bourbon…
-Chlorine (smells like swimming!)
and of course it wouldn’t be fair not to talk about…
Pepe le P-U!
And what smells do I loathe? I speak not of things everyone hates (feces, rotting garbage, locker room) but ones more specific to me, because this blog is by, well… me.
-antique stores/ dust. Choke, cough, gag…
-money. ugh
-tuna (canned)
-Salty foods (as in frozen dinners or leftover takeout, especially in the kitchen at work)
-raw meat. I still have nightmares about this sickening scent in Spain.
-paint (makes me claustrophobic and itchy)
-newspaper
-Jagermeister (self explanatory, I think)

What are your favorite smells? Least favorite smells? Do you think you have your own personal “scent?”
