The bulk of the move is behind us. Change of address form complete, internet coming in a few days… I cannot wait.
In the mean time, I’ve been away from my precious cable smut, and have become all too aware of the larger than life personalities that bombard my senses from the teevee on a daily basis. I’ve still been reading magazines from the library here and there, but I haven’t had the onslaught of drama that I’ve become accustomed to.
So in honor of all of the obnoxious dunderheads that make reality TV so…. well, what it is, I’ve compiled a list up for debate and feedback.
Let’s call it…
“Love to hate ’em, hate to love ’em, or maybe just… hate ’em.”
1. The Donald– I could sort of tolerate him until the last year or so. The hair, the catchphrases, the gawdy opulence. Now I just feel embarrassed for ever having given him credit of any kind for his “brand.” (see: Celebrity Apprentice, The Apprentice, and the show he sometimes appeared on about the pageant chicks on MTV with Tara Connors)

2. Bethany Frankel- I actually like her. She’s super annoying, but I still find her “character” she has formed interesting to watch. I have to admit I’ve never seen the original show she was on though, the real desperate housewives, only the one with her and her fiance/ husband. Also, her face is a weird geometric shape I like to look at. (see: Real Housewives of NY, Bethany Ever After)
3. Patti Stanger- She is hardly ever on, because Man-go-round gets so so worked up with rage when its on, but I like the overall weirdo schtick she has created. I dock her points, however, because sometimes she doesn’t completely come across like she even believes in the crap she’s pretending to. (see: Millionaire Matchmaker)
4. Tyra Banks- I have blogged about Tyra so many times. I think she is one of the most ridiculous, narcissistic, and fake reality tv “characters” I’ve ever seen. What’s not to love about that? Again, I have to admit I’ve never watched her talk show as it is on in the middle of the day, but I’m sure its full of delicious smut! (see: America’s Next Top Model, Tyra Banks show)
5. Heidi Montag/ Spencer Pratt- I can’t give either of these two any credit for their existence, since they are controversial but… they are so utterly boring! Am I the only one unable to get through three minutes of the show without getting up to make a quesadilla out of sheer boredom? Fade away Speidi… fade away… (see: The Hills, Heidi’s music career…)

6. Rachel Ray- Must die. That is all.
7. Rachel Zoe- I didn’t find anything spectacularly interesting, good or bad, about her… until I saw a video on Jezebel where she says the word “literally” about 175 times in a row from different episodes. Now that memory is enough to make an episode of the show almost watchable. If I have the flu. (See: the rachel Zoe show)
8. Snookie Polizzi- I have to admit I’ve never made it through an episode of the Jersey Shore. I WANTED to, people… I want to like it. But… it’s boring! Maybe even more boring than the Real World, which I didn’t think was possible…
I will say, though, that I have seen Snookie on talk shows and think her “character” she has created is sort of cute. And the guy who plays her on SNL is pretty funny too. (see: The Jersey Shore)

9. Glenn Beck- Because man-go-round decrees it so.
10. Simon Cowell- I like him. I like making fun of people who get so upset by his “meanness.” Those people probably wouldn’t like me too much if they think he is mean.
Honorable mentions: Kate Gosselin, Tori Spelling, Sandra Lee, Jerry Springer, Olivia Palermo, Jackie Warner, Jillian Michaels, Guy Fieri (die)
What TV personalities do you hate? or love to hate/ hate to love?
