Well, I intended to post this yesterday but blogger took a little mini-break so I spent the extra time scanning craigslist for hall trees (when did I turn into an adult? Is it reversible?)

The Early Years:


JTT (Jonathan Taylor Thomas to you youths who don’t know…) He was a vegetarian. He starred in Home Improvement, Man of the House, and Tom and Huck. He was sassy, sarcastic, and a little brat. Every tween girl’s dream.

Classic JTT

Jonathan Brandis (of Ladybugs fame). I honestly don’t remember what else he was in, just that me and everybody else on the planet thought him and his baby blues were the living end. Sadly, he died a few years ago, taking lots of former fans by surprise.


Paul Walker- (Of Meet the Deedles fame). Yes, I rack this one up to my “wannabe surfer girl” phase, which was utterly ridiculous as I lived in Minnesota, thousands of miles from the sea.


Leo DiCaprio- Yes, I really went against the crowd with this crush… my bestie and I even wrote him a fan letter!


Later on:


Gael Garcia Bernal- It started with Y tu mama tambien (I should add that at the time Diego Luna was my favorite, and then a mere few years later I grew up and realized Gael was real hottie…) it increased with The Science of Sleep, and hit fever pitch with the Motorcycle Diaries (as much as I’m not a Che fan, this is an incredible movie, and he’s smokin’ hot in it)

Johnny Depp. Well, duh. Especially: Captain Jack Sparrow


Colin Firth- Bridget Jones’ Diary, mostly. I think it might be a Mr. Darcy thing carried over, or perhaps not. Why do I think he’s hot? I know I’m not alone, but I can’t seem to pinpoint why he’s a heartthrob, especially for 20-somethings like me.


Aragorn from Lord of the Rings- Notice I’m not saying Viggo Mortensen. I do know the actor’s name, I just don’t find him to be devastatingly handsome in anything else. Perhaps its the rugged mountain man thing. He’s sort of a live action Gaston I suppose. Who else could get a newbie through a 4 hours LOTR movie?
