Meri-go-rounding

Hey there Junebugs! (too soon? Sorry, I know at least a few of you have had a bit of PTSD over these critters in the last 24 hours… and I don’t blame you. They scare the poo outta me when they “ping” on the screens at the cabin!)

Get ready for the most shamelessly narcissistic blog month topic yet! Just when you thought, “this Meri never tires of talking about herself and her thoughts,” well, now I intend to not just tell, but SHOW you the world through my eyes.

Well, through my photographic lens of an “eye”,” not technically attached to my retina.

What does this mean? Well, when I started this blog I intended it to be a look at how I see things, the places I go, the things I notice, and the beauty I enjoy in the everyday dredge that is “life.” Sure, I have my cynical moments. Technically, they have ahold of the majority of my personality. I do, however, enjoy beautiful things and can appreciate the originality, beauty, and wonder of most things.

Thus, I give you a photo-heavy artsy fartsy explosion of colors, travel, ideas, garbage, and nature. Yes, I said garbage. I happen to find a lot of garbage pretty amazing.

Lost any readers yet?

For this inaugural post of “meri going round” month, I’ll keep it brief. I’ll keep it obvious.

uh, Merry go rounds, of course!

Griffith Park- Los Angeles

Griffith Park again

Santa Monica Pier

Baby Grand- St. Paul. Don’t ask.

Como Park- St. Paul. Who could that be? Anyone recognize her blurred out self….?

So there you have it, although none of these compare to the embarrassment of a carousel scene in “Strangers on a Train.” I laughed, nervously, through that one…

What’s next?
-bridges
-flowers
-the aforementioned garbage
-sunsets
-architecture
-graffiti/ murals
-statues

and more! I can’t wait to show you some of my favorite pictures, and of course to bring you more everyday Meri-style ramblings. Just scroll through them, it won’t hurt a bit 🙂

Cheers kids!
Meri
