I guess I got what I deserved for complaining about the rain yesterday, as overnight the city was transformed from relative thaw to winter wonderland springtime snow disaster.
Tires burning rubber as my car tried to escape the little igloo it had been plowed into, I cursed winter’s cruel return. As I approached the restaurant I was meeting my comrades at, I parallel parked into a fairly small space and thought, “I should kick out some of the slush ‘neath my tires so I don’t get frozen into this puddle.”
What’s wrong with this picture? Yes, I effectively kicked at a puddle. Meaning, I kicked nothing out of the way, and soaked my (non water proofed) boots with ice water. Hence the “frost.”
The “bites” came inside, at the lovely (Seward) Pizza Luce. As beers and wine were served and pizzas placed atop large cans in the pizzeria style, my day finally turned around. (side note- I went out on a limb and tried the “rinotta” vegan nut cheese on my bruschetta. It is spicy and tasty. Try it!) I can’t bear to complain two days in a row, but it really just was one of those days today, and it took until nearly 7 p.m. for me to actually pause and enjoy a minute of it.
